RBI Appoints Ravi Shankar as Executive Director

On 1st July 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) appointed Ravi Shankar as its Executive Director (ED).

  • Prior to his appointment, Ravi Shankar served as Adviser-In-Charge of the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM).
  • As Executive Director, he will continue to head the Department of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM).
  • Ravi Shankar is a career central banker with over three decades of experience at the RBI.
