‘Most Improved State’ Category in TB-Free India Campaign

Recently, Gujarat ranked first in the “States with Most Improvement” category for 2025 under the Centre’s TB-Free India Campaign.

Compared with 2015, Gujarat achieved a 34% reduction in the incidence of new tuberculosis (TB) cases and a 37% decline in the TB mortality rate by 2023.
According to the Centre’s latest report, Gujarat recorded an estimated TB incidence of 186 cases per one lakh population in 2024.
Based on TB incidence, Gujarat ranked 6th among all states with the lowest tuberculosis burden and 4th among large states.
