Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit

On 1st July 2026, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit assumed charge as the 51st Vice Chief of the Air Staff (VCAS), succeeding Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, who retired on 30 June 2026.

• Prior to his appointment, he served as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (CISC) where he played a key role in strengthening tri-service integration and advancing India's joint military capabilities.
• During his tenure as CISC, he contributed significantly to Operation Sindoor, the release of 20 joint doctrines and primers, the conceptualization of RanSamwad 2025 and 2026, the conduct of the Combined and Joint Commanders' Conferences (2025 and 2026), and the formulation of the Defence Forces Vision 2047 roadmap.
