DRDO Successfully Tests Pinaka LRGR

On 8th July 2026, DRDO successfully conducted the flight-test of the Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR) from the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur, Odisha.

Key Points

Flight Test: The Pinaka LRGR was successfully tested for a user-defined minimum range of 60 kilometres.
Development: The rocket was developed by the Armament Research and Development Establishment with support from HEMRL, DRDL and RCI.
Launch Platform: The rocket was launched from the in-service Pinaka launcher, demonstrating compatibility with different Pinaka rocket variants.
Capability: The successful test validated the launcher’s ability to deploy guided rockets of varying ranges from the same platform.
