72nd National Film Awards Announced

On 18th July 2026, the 72nd National Film Awards for the year 2024 were announced, recognising excellence in feature films, non-feature films, and writing on cinema.

• ‘Article 370’ won the Best Feature Film award.
• Yami Gautam won the Best Actress award for ‘Article 370’.
• The Best Actor award was jointly awarded to Mammootty (Bramayugam) and Kartik Aaryan (Chandu Champion).
• Rajkumar Periasamy won the Best Director award for the Tamil film ‘Amaran’.
• ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ received the award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
• ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ won the Best Debut Film of a Director award for Randeep Hooda.
