Shree Jagannath Temple Land Management Rules, 2026

On 7th September 2026, Odisha Cabinet approved new rules for managing Shree Jagannath Temple land.
- The rules aim to improve transparency, accountability and efficiency in SJT land management.
- They are framed under the Shree Jagannath Temple Act, 1955.
- The rules replace the Uniform Policy, 2003 and its 2019 amendment.
- Applications for land settlement will be processed through a fully online portal-based system.
- A District Level Land Sub-Committee (DLSC) will conduct field verification.
- The Shree Jagannath Mahaprabhu Bhumi Sanchalan Committee (SJMBSC) will scrutinise applications at the district level.
- The Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee will issue NOCs for all settlements.
