India-Morocco First Joint Defence Committee Meeting

On 8th September 2026, India and Morocco held their inaugural Joint Defence Committee meeting in New Delhi to expand bilateral defence cooperation.

Key Points

Areas of Cooperation: Training, military exercises, peacekeeping, military medicine, cyber defence and defence industries.
70th Anniversary: Both sides seek to deepen defence ties ahead of 70 years of bilateral cooperation in 2027.
Defence Manufacturing: Discussions covered co-production, joint ventures, technology collaboration and maintenance.
Industrial Engagement: Moroccan officials visited Indian defence industries to understand India’s expanding manufacturing capabilities.
Military Medicine: The Moroccan delegation is scheduled to visit Army Hospital (Research & Referral).
Institutional Mechanism: The JDC provides a regular framework for identifying and expanding areas of defence cooperation.
2025 MoU: The mechanism was established under the India-Morocco defence cooperation MoU signed during Rajnath Singh’s Morocco visit in September 2025.
