India-Morocco First Joint Defence Committee Meeting

On 8th September 2026, India and Morocco held their inaugural Joint Defence Committee meeting in New Delhi to expand bilateral defence cooperation.

- Areas of Cooperation: Training, military exercises, peacekeeping, military medicine, cyber defence and defence industries.
- 70th Anniversary: Both sides seek to deepen defence ties ahead of 70 years of bilateral cooperation in 2027.
- Defence Manufacturing: Discussions covered co-production, joint ventures, technology collaboration and maintenance.
- Industrial Engagement: Moroccan officials visited Indian defence industries to understand India’s expanding manufacturing capabilities.
- Military Medicine: The Moroccan delegation is scheduled to visit Army Hospital (Research & Referral).
- Institutional Mechanism: The JDC provides a regular framework for identifying and expanding areas of defence cooperation.
- 2025 MoU: The mechanism was established under the India-Morocco defence cooperation MoU signed during Rajnath Singh’s Morocco visit in September 2025.
