DFPD–FCI MoU 2026–27

On 8th September 2026, the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) and Food Corporation of India (FCI) signed an MoU to modernise foodgrain management.
- The MoU establishes a performance-based framework for FCI operations.
- Annual targets cover storage, logistics, quality control and technology adoption.
- It aims to reduce storage losses and optimise available storage capacity.
- The agreement seeks to improve logistics and foodgrain supply-chain management.
- Greater digitisation will strengthen transparency, efficiency and real-time monitoring.
- FCI employees will receive capacity-building and skill-development support.
- Performance targets are partly linked to depots through the Depot Darpan Portal.
