DFPD–FCI MoU 2026–27

On 8th September 2026, the Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD) and Food Corporation of India (FCI) signed an MoU to modernise foodgrain management.

The MoU establishes a performance-based framework for FCI operations.
Annual targets cover storage, logistics, quality control and technology adoption.
It aims to reduce storage losses and optimise available storage capacity.
The agreement seeks to improve logistics and foodgrain supply-chain management.
Greater digitisation will strengthen transparency, efficiency and real-time monitoring.
FCI employees will receive capacity-building and skill-development support.
Performance targets are partly linked to depots through the Depot Darpan Portal.
