Kalinga Ratna Award 2026

On 8th September 2026, former Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra received the Kalinga Ratna Award.

The award was conferred by the Sarala Sahitya Sansad in Odisha.
It comprises a silver idol of Goddess Saraswati and a citation.
Justice Misra highlighted fraternity as a moral bond transcending social divisions.
He emphasised that individual dignity cannot be protected by diminishing another’s dignity.
He also spoke against war, highlighting its lasting grief, hatred and generational trauma.
