Three Food Security Apps Launched

On 20th May 2025, Centre launched the Depot Darpan, Anna Mitra, and Anna Sahayata apps in New Delhi to digitize and enhance India’s food distribution and grievance redressal systems.

  • The three newly launched mobile applications aim to strengthen India’s food security infrastructure through digital innovation and improved public service delivery.
  • Depot Darpan is designed for supervisory officials to monitor warehouse operations in real time using smart warehousing technology, CCTV integration, and IoT-based sensors.
  • Anna Sahayata is a unique voice and message-based grievance redressal app that allows citizens to file complaints in local languages with real-time tracking and feedback capabilities.
  • Anna Mitra serves as a real-time digital command center for key stakeholders in the Public Distribution System, including ration dealers, food inspectors, and district-level officials.
  • The Anna Mitra app will display monthly sales data, inspection reports, and official communications, enabling more coordinated and transparent distribution efforts.
