Revamped OCI Portal

On 19th May 2025, Union Home Minister launched a newly upgraded Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) portal, aimed at offering enhanced services, security, and ease of access for over 5 million cardholders.

The new OCI portal introduces an updated user interface and simplified registration process, addressing longstanding feedback from global Indian-origin citizens.
The revamped portal replaces the older version developed in 2013, which is currently operational across 180 Indian missions and 12 FRROs, processing around 2,000 applications daily.
The new platform is designed to eliminate operational hurdles, minimize processing time, and enhance convenience for OCI users during visits or stays in India.
The initiative underscores India’s strategic focus on engaging its diaspora more effectively through better digital tools and transparent systems.
