On 19th January 2026, renowned Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani, popularly known as Valentino, has died at the age of 93 at his home in Rome.

• A giant of 20th-century fashion, his creations were worn by global icons including Elizabeth Taylor, Nancy Reagan, Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow.
• He co-founded the Valentino fashion house in 1960 and was ranked among the greatest designers alongside Giorgio Armani and Karl Lagerfeld.
• Valentino will lie in state at Piazza Mignanelli from January 21 to 22, with his funeral to be held on January 23 at the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels and Martyrs.
