Green Nagpur Vision

On 13th June 2026, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari unveiled the Green Nagpur Vision and announced a target of planting 2.5 million trees in Nagpur.
- The plantation drive will be undertaken under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.
- Saplings measuring 2-3 metres in height will be distributed to schools, universities, voluntary organisations, political parties and other stakeholders for plantation and conservation activities.
- The Revenue and Forest Departments, along with the Remote Sensing Centre, Nagpur, will conduct mapping of all districts and talukas in Maharashtra to monitor plantation activities.
- Districts carrying out extensive plantation efforts will be documented and recognised.
