RBI Reports Strong Corporate Growth

On 24th June 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its report on the Performance of the Private Corporate Business Sector during 2025-26, showing that listed private non-government non-financial (NGNF) companies recorded 10.1% growth in sales, returning to double-digit growth after two years.

  • Manufacturing Leads Growth: Sales growth in the manufacturing sector accelerated to 10.8%, up from 6.0% in the previous year.
  • Key Performing Industries: Automobiles, electrical machinery, food and beverages, and chemicals drove manufacturing growth, while the petroleum sector continued to witness a decline in sales.
  • Services Sector Performance: IT companies recorded 7.9% sales growth, up from 7.1% a year earlier, while non-IT services maintained double-digit growth, led by wholesale and retail trade.
  • Improved Profitability: Despite a 12% increase in raw material costs, manufacturing companies improved operating profit growth to 10.3%, compared to 6.0% in the previous year.
  • Profit Growth in Services: Operating profit growth stood at 10.7% for IT companies, while non-IT services companies recorded 7.1% growth.
