  • 16 Jun 2026

On 15th June 2026, the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight-test of the indigenously developed Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile (LRLACM) from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha.

Key Points:

  • Mission Objectives Achieved: The missile successfully met all test objectives, validating critical technologies and operational performance.
  • Tracking and Evaluation: The flight was monitored through various tracking instruments deployed by the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur.
  • Enhanced Precision Strike Capability: The successful test demonstrates India's growing capability to conduct long-range, precision land-attack missions against strategic targets.
  • Fully Indigenous Development: The missile has been developed indigenously with contributions from multiple DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners.
  • Nodal Laboratory: The Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) served as the nodal laboratory for the project.
