India’s Exports Grow 14.66% to US$ 162.69 Billion

On 15th June 2026, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that India’s total exports of goods and services increased by 14.66% year-on-year to US$ 162.69 billion during April-May 2026-27, reflecting strong growth in both merchandise and services exports.

- Total Exports Growth: India’s total exports (goods and services) rose to US$ 162.69 billion during April-May 2026-27 from US$141.89 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
- Merchandise Exports: Merchandise exports increased by 16.09% to US$ 88.91 billion, compared to US$76.59 billion during April-May 2025-26.
- Non-Petroleum Exports: Non-petroleum exports grew by 10.49% to US$ 70.74 billion, up from US$ 64.03 billion a year earlier.
- May 2026 Export Performance: Total exports in May 2026 were estimated at US$ 81.96 billion, registering a growth of 15.83% over May 2025.
- Imports and Trade Deficit:
- Total imports in May 2026: US$ 92.47 billion
- Trade deficit: US$ 10.51 billion
